By 2016, laptops, and readers will generate 24% of all mobile traffic

According to experts, over the next five years, mobile operators will face tremendous pressure - the mobile Internet will increasingly be used not only to owners of smart phones and tablets, but the owners of other portable devices such as netbooks, laptops, game consoles and readers. According to analysts, the share of these gadgets will account for about 24% of all mobile traffic generated in 2016. In numerical terms, this annual volume of about 7500 petabytes, or 3 trillion music tracks.

More and more owners of laptops will connect to the Internet via 3G and 4G networks. One reason for this is that in countries with developing economies, the infrastructure of fixed broadband access (BBA) is not sufficiently developed, which forces users to rely on wireless communications.

To cope with growing demand, the mobile operator will need to use technology to offload network such as WiFi, as well as hundreds of small technology (small cells), applied to expand coverage and increase the capacity of networks, noted in Juniper.
