Nokia sold an office in New York for $ 12 million


Last year's rumors were confirmed: the Finnish company Nokia has released the building in the district of Westchester County (NY, USA) at 102 Corporate Park Drive. This office is located Nokia, which, according to online edition IntoMobile, was sold for $ 12 million, despite the fact that over six years of operation it had invested about $ 30 million. According to Rao, Michael (Michael Rao), president of the New York Commercial Realty Group, provides services in commercial real estate, the building acquired biotech firm Histogenetics.

In this building were employed 300 employees Nokia, which has been assigned a difficult task - to do everything possible to increase the popularity of Nokia phones in the U.S.. Sales office in New York does not mean leaving Nokia with the U.S. market. Back in February 2011 it was decided to postpone the North American office in New York in Sunnyvale, Calif., where already large Internet-based corporation.

Meanwhile, Nokia continues to carry out the plan for layoffs. Recently, it has laid off 1,000 workers in Finland. Nokia promises to pay them compensation and to help find a new job.
