Booktrack. Perfect of horrible idea?

Aulgust, 23 NYT announced the launch of the new startup called Booktrack. Was it an efford to create a new genre of e-books?

Booktrack produces a synchronized soundtracks for e-books to create the whole emotionally coloured image of the book. It can be downloaded to iPhone, iPad and Andriod apps are on the way. Its technology is already fully integrated in the new novel ‘The Power of Six’ by Pittacus Lore (James Frey), published by HarperCollins Children’s Books. The profits will be shared with participating authors, composers, and musicians, the company said in a press release.

But there are such thoughts as music can do nothing but distract from reading. The Booktrack’s co-founder Paul Cameron compares e-books in their current form with ‘movies with no soundtrack’ in the press release.

So wheather read traditional books, booktrack or simply watch movies it is up to you. But you can tell nothing untill you try it.
