Nokia may sell Vertu

The Finnish company Nokia can get rid of the premium brand Vertu, to fully concentrate on their core business. This past weekend The Financial Times reported, citing unnamed sources.

The Finnish company is planning to get for Vertu around € 200 million Nokia officially does not comment on reports of a possible sale of the brand. As you know, the company is now in crisis, and its attempts to stop the decline in sales is not too successful. For example, smart mobile phone Nokia Lumia on OC-Windows can not yet show decent sales - only for the first quarter of this year, the Finnish company's loss amounted to € 929 million, whereas a year earlier the company reported a profit € 344 million

Since May last year, Nokia shares dropped in price by 60%. In conditions of growing competition from companies Apple, Samsung, HTC and other Nokia's market share has steadily decreased - in late April, research firm Strategy Analytics said that in the first quarter deliveries Samsung phones and smartphones worldwide totaled 93.5 million, or 25 % of total (368 million) of all mobile phones in the world, delivered from manufacturers to stores in the first quarter, Nokia's delivery over the first quarter of last year fell by 24% - up to 83 million, leaving a Finnish company to second place on the market proportion (22.5%). In third place with a share of 9.5% is Apple.
