Intel develops mobile OS Tizen


Intel is not going to restrict the list of supported operating systems, only Windows and Android. She actively participates in the development of the left Nokia's operating system MeeGo and its descendant OS Tizen.

Tizen is a freely distributed operating system, the mobile open source software based on Linux. Intel will add support for Atom processors Tizen 2800 and Atom 2600, that is platform Cedar Trail. According to the schedule, the release of the operating system to take place later this quarter. In the future it is planned to add your own online store application.

According to Intel, the system Tizen is a balanced mix of technologies within a unified environment. The legacy of MeeGo system has large support group of developers, and Linux foundation must provide extensive support for various services from the providers. Application interface will be based on the increasingly popular standard HTML 5.

Tizen supposed to run on ARM, and on x86 systems, and by the end of the year are expected to appear first prototypes of mobile devices on it. Among their number can be smart phones, tablets, netbooks, smart television systems and car entertainment systems.

It is hoped that Tizen be more successful than the mobile OS Maemo, eventually absorbed MeeGo. Designed in 2007 MobLin distro to run Linux on Atom processors are also now part of the Tizen.
