Chrome will be able to see and hear without plugins

Browser Chrome, released by Google, has learned to control the microphones, webcams and game controllers without additional plug-ins. Expanded functionality of the program provides support for two new API (application programming interfaces), according to a company blog.

With their help, developers can create online applications (for example, to handle music, photos, audio, or video chat) that interact with the periphery right inside your browser. Installing third-party plug-ins such as Flash or Java, would be required.

The first API - getUserMedia - supports the WebRTC for communication in real time. In combination with other technologies, it also allows to apply various effects such as rotate video or to add filters to the image. Thanks to the second API - Gamepad JavaScript - users will be able to play in browser games with joysticks and gamepads.

A set of new features currently available in beta version of Chrome 21. You can install it on Google. The test assembly of the browser is only suitable for a family of operating systems Windows - XP, Vista or 7.

In addition to the new API, the beta release Chrome appeared "cloudy" print Cloud Print, with which users can manage tasks and print documents directly from your browser window. For this you need a regular printer that is connected to a laptop or PC with Internet access and registered on Google, or "virtual" support function to ePrint.
