Approximately three-quarters of the world's population owns a mobile phone, according to a World Bank study. According to the organization, the number of cellular subscribers grew exploding for the past 12 years. In 2000 the planet was less than a billion mobile users, whereas today there are about six billion. And all of them are active mobile life for the past year alone has been downloaded more than 30 billion applications.
The majority of customers - from developing countries (about 5 billion people), because these states have slipped stage of laying costly ground infrastructure. According to the World Bank, Rachel Kyte, mobile communications offer many opportunities for developing countries to accelerate economic growth. In her view, countries should develop their own applications that allow citizens to more fully feel the benefits of mobile technology. Also, the study says that smartphones and packs all of the traffic just is not available to most people, so applications aimed at developing countries, are built using low-speed and outdated technology.
